ABSTRACT
Introduction: The role of radiology is to confirm or exclude a clinically suspected disease, assessing the extent of the process, allows the monitoring, detection of possible complications and response to treatment coupled with its accessibility, low cost and provides a good level of effectively requires a good quality in imaging technique. Methods: We analyzed chest radiographs from 200 infants, evaluating the quality of the imaging technique to know, collimation, centering, penetration, contrast, sharpness, inspiration and presence of artifacts.
Results: Definition and inspiration was of good quality at 100% of the radiographs, but in the rest of the variables was not satisfied with the quality of the imaging technique since there was presence of artifacts, inadequate collimation, optimal penetration and contrast were below 70%.
Conclusions: Was low quality radiological technique, you must standardize the variables of X-ray exposure and adequate patient preparation prior to taking the chest radiograph.
