ABSTRACT

Retinopathy of prematurity has emerged as a cause of blindness. There are multiple risk factors, some modifiable and preventable. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the use of international classification for this condition, standardizing the retinal findings. Early ophthalmic diagnosis and treatment improve the visual prognosis of children.
