RESUMEN
La enfermedad quística de la vía biliar es una entidad poco frecuente. Actualmente, debido a avances tecnológicos en las técnicas de imágenes de la vía biliar, se diag-nóstica de manera correcta con mayor frecuencia. Se identifica por dilatación congénita intra y/o extrahepática de los conductos biliares. La presentación clínica clásica constituye una triada de dolor abdominal, ictericia, y masa abdominal palpable, sin embargo, también se puede manifestar con datos de sepsis en casos de com-plicación con colangitis, pan-creatitis o colecistitis, por lo que se debe tener presente la asocia-ción que existe entre la enferme-dad quística de la vía biliar y otras anomalías en los conductos pancreáticos y, por supuesto, neo-plasias hepatobiliares. El manejo de dicha enfermedad ha ido evo-lucionando con el tiempo debido a experiencia médica.
