ABSTRACT
Introduction: Today, in mammography studies several abnormalities can be appreciated, such as nodules, micro calcifications, asymmetries and architecture distortions. Breast infra-clinical injuries or no palpable ones correspond to mammography or sonographic lestudies findings with no clinical expression.
Material and methods: Micro calcifications presence was diagnosed in a 26 patients group with a retrospective study at the Hospital General de Mexico. BIRADS system was used.
Results: Age range was from 30 to 69 years old, biggest number of cases was between 40 and 49 years old. The most frequent location with micro calcifications was the right breast with 48% (12 cases) and the left breast 36% (nine cases).
Conclusions: Micro calcifications constitute an important finding in the mammography, being associated in an important percentage to cancer and to high-risk lesions.
