ABSTRACT
Introduction: Excretory Urography (EU) is the method of choice, as well as basic imaging method in the study of the urinary tract and its congenital malformations. Ultrasonography (US) due to its noninvasive nature has a great impact in the evaluation of congenital renal malformations both prenatally and postnatally.
Although the anatomy of most renal abnormalities can be demonstrated with a combination of US and EU, a large percentage of them are incidental findings on radiographic examination. With new technologies such as Computerized UroTomography (UroTC) and UroResonance (UR) is feasible to achieve complete anatomical displays and thus achieve full integration in the evaluation of reno-uretero-tract catheter.
Objective: The reason of this article is to describe and analyze the terminology used in urography and imaging findings in congenital condition and integrating a clinical-radiologic approach in patients with clinical data suggesting the existence of urinary tract abnormalities.
