ABSTRACT
Introduction: The horseshoe-type kidney is a congenital anomaly that is prone to cancer predisposition, among other pathologies, and being the most frequent one, the clear-cells one.
Presentation of the case: A case with a 69 years old female patient, who appeared with a renal tumoration in the study, only referring pain in the left side, showing weight loss and attack to the general condition of the patient, diagnosis for studies were requested, and the most useful due to the sensitivity and specificity was the abdominopelvic tomography with oral and intravenous contrast. For an adequate surgical planning, third dimension reconstruction was made, which offered a wide vision field, without having to invade the patient afterwards as a pre-surgical measure, embolization through the main neoformation vessel was made.
Conclusion: In any type of renal tumors, the Computerized Axial Tomography of abdomen and pelvis, is necessary to discard contra lateral neoplasia and to elevate the infiltration degree of perirrenal fat, to the adjacent organs and the possible involvement of the renal and/or vena cava, in this case the anatomopathological findings were consistent with the indirect data observed in the imaging studies.
