ABSTRACT
Introduction: MDCT current and widespread use in multiple clinical issues and indications has allowed, since applications thereof were routine and that by means of established protocols, be possible to evaluate the corporal vascular tree.
Material and methods: A revision made with 8 multidetec tor equipments of 5,000 thoracic abdominal pelvic studies which indications were for different and several reasons.
Results: Multiple anatomical variants were incidentally founded in 56 patients such as right aortic button, aberrant subclavian artery, accessory hepatic artery, left vena cava, retro aortic renal vein and a number of renal arteries, etc.
Conclusions: The routine identification of VANV allows getting acquainted with the vascular anatomy, eases the surgical approach, if necessary, as well as of other managements that imply a precise knowledge of the vascular tree, it substitutes angiographic invasive studies and avoids unnecessary procedures.
