ABSTRACT
Multiple primary tumor (MPT) was defined by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as the existence of two or morecancers that are no extension, recurrence or metastases having different locations or being located in the same place with different histology. This paper reports the case of a 72-year-old female who at 41 years old was diagnosed with breast cancer, with no recurrence evidence. Twenty-three years later, a moderately differentiated solid papillary adenocarcinoma was diagnosed. She was treated with suboptimal citorreductive surgery and was classified as IIIC stage, receiving six chemotherapy cycles. Two years later she presented with an elevation of CA-125 and a new pelvic tumor was diagnosed, a secondary optimal citorreductive surgery was performed with the histology diagnose of papillary adenocarcinoma grade 2, she received eight chemotherapy cycles. After a disease-free period of 20 months, CT scan diagnosed a tumor in left hypochondrium, patient was treated with optimal cytorreductive surgery. The histology diagnose was mixed müllerian tumor with heterologous components and she received six chemotherapy cycles. Twenty-four months later she presented an elevation of CA-125 with no evidence by CT scan of the tumoral activity, a PET-CT was performed, finding concentration of the radiomarker at the left subdiaphragmatic area, spleen, stomach and peripancreatic nodes. Another optimal citorreduction was performed with splenectomy, total gastrectomy and reconstruction. The pathology report was a moderately differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma. The patient coursed with a complicated postoperatory period, dying eight days after the surgery.
