Late hematoma formation after breast augmentation

ABSTRACT

Breast augmentation with implants is one of the most common aesthetic surgical procedures. However, it is not excluded from complications that may occur in the early or late postoperative period. Infection and hematoma appear in the early period (1-5%), and late complications such as capsular contracture and rupture may be present. A rare, but underreported complication is late hematoma formation. We report four cases that occurred after two or more years.
