ABSTRACT
Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the most frequent degenerative diseases in Mexico. With an increase in obesity and sedentary lifestyle, it would be expected that in the next years an increase in diabetes should be observed. It is necessary to know about interventions to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes. There have benne made clinical trials about this issue. In this paper, 5 trials will be commented with their most important data and their conclusions. The commented trials are: the Da Qing study, the Finnish Diabetes Prevention Study, the Diabetes Prevention Program, the STOP-NIDDM Trial and the TRIPOD Study.
