The quality proffesional life in nursing

ABSTRACT
Introduction: quality of life is defined as "the feeling of well-being that stems from the perceived balance between the individual loads of professional and psychological resources, organizational and relational at its disposal to deal with them."
Objective: to analyze the levels of quality of life for nursing from units of a second level of the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social in San Luis Potosi.
Methodology: a descriptive and transversal survey was done in 311 nurses working in three units at second level, selected by stratified probability sampling. The instrument consists of 35 items grouped into three indicators: executive support, intrinsic motivation and demands of work evaluated with a Lickert scale, levels were poor, fair, good and excellent for rating the quality of life, statistical analysis was Cronbach's α of 0.81.
Results: female predominated with 82.3%, average age was 37 years, marital status was married in 56.3%, and Licenciate graduated was observed in 37.9%, the predominant level of quality of life in the units evaluated with 89% according to indicators: management support was assessed as good with 62.1%, with excellent motivation and charges of 55.3% moderate laboral charges was 56.9%.
Conclusions: the nursing staff has a good quality of life, however, expressed little support and information given by managers about their work.
