ABSTRACT
Aeromedical transportation has been developed since the last half of the past century, thanks to the advances in avionics and medical equipment. However, it’s a reality the lack of medical aircraft, the ones that exist are charters or air taxis, without healthcare professionals or without medical equipment. In the case of Mexico, there is no specialized ambulance helicopter service, and only a few air ambulances.
In this article advantages and special circumstances are exposed, without pretending to be an extensive review.
