ABSTRACT
The disease called Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) is undoubtedly one of the most painful situations a human being has to endure. Its pathogenesis is still far from being resolved. This has meant that the nature of the treatment is often only symptomatic in nature and does not always provide satisfactory results. For some patients it presents a very disabling situation, with serious social and work-related repercussions. It affects 4 out of 100,000 people per year, with a prevalence of 1.7 women per man. Its incidence is clearly correlated with age and usually presents itself after the fifth decade. Over the years, this disease has received many names such as:
tic douloureux, Fothergill Disease, Idiopathic Trigeminal Neuralgia, Elementary Trigeminal Neuralgia, and others. We shall retain Trigeminal neuralgia (TN). This work aims to obtain a statistically typical skull to perform the block of the trigeminal ganglion [Gasser], using the percutaneous rhizotomy technique.
