ABSTRACT

Reflex sympathetic dystrophy (CRPS) is a chronic pain condition as result of a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system. The symptom of CRPS is continuous, intense pain out of proportion to the severity of the injury, which gets worse rather than better over time. CRPS most often affects one of the arms, legs, or hands Often the pain spreads to include the entire arm or leg, the symptoms includes inflammatory symptoms of redness, warmth, and swelling in the affected area. In this case we study a patient of 70 years old, with hypertension and cardiac failure with CRPS, with an initial EVA 10/10, that was treatment with psychological treatment and with gabapentin and imipramine for 4 weeks that had a decrease of the EVA 3/10.
