ABSTRACT
Objective: To present the situational diagnosis of the infections for VPH in patient masculine of the gulfsouth-southeast region of the country evaluating the diagnoses methods and therapeutic employees.
Material and methods: During the V Regional Congress “Urogolfo 2006” we applicated an electronic questionnaire to 70 assisting urologists of the states of Veracruz, Puebla, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Campeche, Yucatan, Quintana Roo and Tabasco, evaluating the incidence, the psico-affective environment and of couple, the methodology in the diagnoses and the therapy employee still under conditions you specify of presentation of the illness.
Results: The infections for VPH represent a 5 to 10% of the urology consults. Less than 40% of patients it is referred in a formal way. The effectiveness granted to the test of acetic acid not went bigger to 50%. To the cytology of having brushed uretral and furrow alone balanoprepucial 33% of the specialists considers it an useful method in lesions subclínicas and 67% of the urologist doesn’t carry out it. Before suspicion of lesions subclinicians 90% responded that PCR would use it looking for to identify possible subtypes of high risk and to establish a treatment important. It’s very important to coment with the patients the risks of this illness. The electrosurgery is the therapeutic method but commonly employee.
