ABSTRACT
Renal cell carcinoma (CCR) also named hypernefroma, clear cell tumor or Growitz tumor is one of the most frequent neoplasms in adults. There are 31 thousand new cases reported in US every year, with a 2.3% mortality rate; 30% with metastatic disease at diagnosis, 20-50% after nephrectomy. The most frequent locations are lung (36%), bone (10%), liver (8%), brain (8%), and 10% of unusual metastases (pancreas, skin, small bowel, trachea, nose and breast). There are 5 cases in world literature but none in México. We present the case of a 74 year old male that underwent nephrectomy for CCR with development of spleen metastases after 15 years of treatment.REFERENCES
