Action plan for the regulation of the usage of trans fatty acids in México

ABSTRACT
The participation of the academic institutions as well as the political ones in the elaboration of law proposals, directed to the prevention and control of the illnesses associated with the food consumption is fundamental. For that reason, academics and politicians shared experiences, knowledge and interests to carry out the Action Plan for the regulation and usage of trans-fatty acids in the Food industry in Mexico, through the international Law initiative proposal to regulate the usage of trans-fatty acids in the Food industry: organized by the Nutritionist Faculty of the Universidad Veracruzana of the Fatty Acids Trans in the alimentary industry, organized by the Faculty of Nutrition of the Universidad Veracruzana, in Xalapa, Veracruz. The concept Trans fatty acids was analyzed, the effect on health, the relationship with the chronic-degenerative illnesses, their usage in the alimentary industry as well as in the current legislation. Finally, agreement advances on the carried out gestations in the Senate are presented.
