ABSTRACT
Breast adjuvant disease is a deforming, incapacitating and in some advanced cases, a mortal condition that affects our population who tries by all means to comply with a commercial and cultural expectation of beauty at a low cost. At the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Service in the Hospital General de México O.D. we have treated a total of 123 female patients with adjuvant disease in the last 5 years. 56 patients (45.5%), had direct injury of mammary glands related to the injection of the modeling material. The propose classification was made in order to expedite the reconstructive decision-making based on our experience. According to the level of tissue affection by adjuvant material we created a classification considering the reconstructive needs due to clinic and radiologic parameters. A total of 44 reconstructive procedures were performed, 12 patients continue only under rheumatologic treatment and one is has no surgical treatment. Of the total patients who were operated 43 are satisfied with their surgical result and refer good functional and acceptable aesthetic results. We had one death in the second month after surgery related to adjuvant disease complications exacerbated by the surgical procedure.
