ABSTRACT
The treatment of the early glottic tumors has changed in the last two decades, moving radiotherapy as a gold standard to organ preservation with different surgical techniques including partial laryngectomies to management with laser organ preservation with acceptable oncological and functional results and range of local control between 60 to 98%. Treatment option include partial vertical hemilaryngectomy and reconstruction and with false vocal cord imbrication, this surgery allows to preserve the quality of voice when comparing with laser CO
2 treatment with partial vertical hemilaryngectomy without reconstruction. The correct knowledge of the surgical technique is essential to guarantee the successful in anatomofunctional and oncological terms. The present paper describes the critical points of the surgical technique in partial vertical hemilaryngectomy and reconstruction with false vocal cord imbrication.
