ABSTRACT
Cystic hygroma is an abnormality of the peripheral lymphatic system that results in a failure of the drainage to flow into the venous one. Surgery is the most usual therapy, although plain observation or sclerosing agents may also be considered. This paper report the case of a 15-year-old girl who was referred to our ENT department for the evaluation of a cervical swelling on her right neck side, showed up 1 month ago. Fluctuant, soft, compressible. Neither infection symptoms nor pain were mentioned. Her family reports she underwent surgery when she was 5-year-old for a mass in her neck, but did not bring any paper. Aspiration of the mass was done, and bloody fluid was showed. It got refilled after 10-15 days. CT and IRM images: diagnosis of branchial cleft cyst was done. We decided surgical management, but it has to be interrupted because vascular nature of the mass is noticed in the operating room. Afterwards, with vascular surgery department, the mass was dissected.
