ABSTRACT
Chickenpox has been considered a childhood benign illness, which can produce mainly complications in adults, and in immunodeficient patients. Healthy children could develop some complications. We describe the case of a school boy with chicken pox and pancreatitis. Diagnosis was suspected clinically, and was confirmed with abdominal ultrasound and on-line axial scan tomography. It was classified as edematous pancreatitis B according to Balthazar’s approaches. Pancreatitis associated with chicken pox is a rare complication. An early diagnosis could define a better evolution.
