ABSTRACT
The gastrointestinal tract is one of the most frequent sites of extranodal malignant lymphoma, being the stomach the most common affected site. Primary small intestinal lymphoma, however, it is very uncommon accounting for 19 to 38% of small bowel malignancies and 4 to 12% of all non-Hodgkin lymphomas. We report the immunohistochemical and molecular study of an extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of the jejunal mucosa associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma), that presented as an incidental fi nding in a morbidly obese patient.
