ABSTRACT
Current classification of Hodgkin’s lymphoma is based on that proposed by Lukes and Butker in 1966; it has had little changes since then. Classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis requires the identifi cation of Reed-Sternberg cells in the proper cell environment and with own immunohistochemical characteristics; that is, Reed-Sternberg’s cells positive to CD30, CD15 and negative to CD45 and EMA, and sometimes positive to B marker. Immunomarking, besides helping to exactly diagnose of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, has contributed to differentiate it from several entities which it may be confused with since the histological point of view, such as peripheral T lymphoma, T cell-rich/hystiocyterich lymphoma B, mediastinal primary B large cell lymphoma, large cell anaplastic lymphoma, reactive lymphadenopathy of viral origin (infectious mononucleosis), metastasis (melanoma, germinal cell tumor and some sarcomas).
