ABSTRACT
Children and adolescents with some incapacity exhibit some features which make them vulnerable, and at risk of undergoing some form of child abuse. Factors enhancing this problem include low socioeconomic level of their parents; excessive demand of care and medical attention; inability of minors to express themselves; being cared by persons other than members of the family; poor emotional support for the patient and the family; lack of self medication programs. Children with incapacity should be evaluated medically, socialogically and psychologicaly in order to identify risk factors and stop child abuse.
