ABSTRACT
The leptine is a hormonal peptide produced by the adiposities in the fatty tissue and acts on the receptors in the brain to regulate the corporal weight and the fat deposits, which, in excess induce the obesity causing a multifactor metabolic disorder that at the moment is considered a health problem. In the present revision are important findings, which indicate that Central Nervous System (CNS) takes part in the control of the food ingestion, and produces free radicals like part of their metabolism, besides interacting with the leptine. This review suggests that leptine cannot be consumed to decrease the corporal weight in obese individuals, because it is necessary to carry out more studies than they justify his use.
