ABSTRACT
The open bite correspond to a lack of evident contact between the superior and inferior pieces that are manifest at level of the incisive group or the later segments of the arches. The habits of digital suction and atypical swallowing constitute an aspect of special interest in etiopatogenia of the open bite. Detecting the atypical swallowing when they project the tongue to the palatal face of the previous teeth opening the bite, space that soon occupies the tongue, producing a grater muscular action than is activated to badly a habit.
