At the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery the second cause of consultation is migraine. That also represents an important cause of laboral ausentism. We made a comparasion between two products the topiramato and valproato in 90 patients of our clinic. The profilactic action of the topiramato (32 patients with 25 mg and 8 with 50 mg) was 100% in 6 months and 85% with valproato (17 with 200 mg and 18 with 400 mg) so we conclude that topiramato is more efficient as profilaxis of migraine.
