ABSTRACT
The small-round cell tumor (SRCT) family is a diverse group of neoplasms that are primitive or embryonal in appearance and, therefore, haven’t any particular morphologic features that would allow precise identification. Morphologic features include basophilic cells, intense cell reaction, and immunohistochemical reactivity for epithelial, neural and muscle markers. This rare, malignant, small cell tumor that arise the chest wall described by Askin and colleagues belongs to primitive neuroectodermal tumor family, that are seen predominantly in children and young adults and probably develop from embryonal migrating cells of the neural crest. We present a case of primitive neuroectodermal tumor in chest wall with clinicopathologic correlation and using inmunohistochemistry.
