Transformación maligna de neurofibroma plexiforme mediastinal en un paciente con enfermedad de von Recklinghausen. A propósito de un caso

RESUMEN
La neurofibromatosis 1 (NF1) –conocida como “enfermedad de Von Recklinghausen” y ocasionada por alteraciones en el gen de la proteína citoplásmica neurofibromina– es un trastorno neurocutáneo, hereditario, autosómico y dominante, que se distingue por un alto riesgo de génesis tumoral. Su prevalencia es de 1 caso por cada 2,500 a 3,000 y su prevalencia mínima es de 1 caso por 4,000 a 5,000. Las lesiones características de la neurofibromatosis 1 son manchas café con leche, que se asocian con los neurofibromas cutáneos. El orden típico de las manifestaciones clínicas son manchas café con leche, efélides axilares, nódulos de Lisch y neurofibromas.
