ABSTRACT
Annual incidence for disease and injury of the nervous system is approximately 2.5 % (2500 per 100 000) and prevalence is approximately 9.5 % in the U.S., according to the National Institutes of Health. Nevertheless, the neurologist must known the basic elements of epidemiology, wich defined the course of illness and risk factor identification requires specific studies and appropriate statistical testing.
