ABSTRACT
Four cases of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) are reported. MCC is a rare neoplasm and its diagnosis is carry out through clinical, histological and immuhistochemical studies. Epidemiologic, clinical and histological features, as were as the immunohistochemical studies are basic for the diagnosis. Differential diagnosis, staging and treatment are reviewed. We concluded that Merkel cell carcinoma will encrease the next years, if all investigations are performed; because of that, Internists, dermathologists, oncologists and pathologists should improve the knowledge of this neoplasm.
