ABSTRACT
Bilateral cleft lip with difficult management techniques, is handled at an early age and preoperative orthopedic care, achieving good results. An alternative for patients without preoperative management is the art we present. Methods: We performed 61 procedures, which were assessed a week, month and year postoperative, according to the criteria of Steffensen-Musgrave and a new criterion, the presence of the gingivolabial sulcus of the premaxillary area. Results: At week had all the criteria. At 4 months dehiscences, all incomplete, it was not necessary to resolve them immediately, even if not at the time of the palatoplasty. At one year, but no with scars tension in 7 patients (12%), lateral lip redundant in 2 (4%), incomplete formation of labial tubercle in 11 (20%) and loss of gingivolabial sulcus in area premaxilla in 5 (9 %). Conclusion: This technique is an alternative in management of bilateral cleft lip hard, with very acceptable results, both functional and aesthetic. Also an easy to use by postoperative orthopedic and dentistry, to have adequate space on the gingivolabial area of the premaxilla and without any tension.REFERENCES
