ABSTRACT
Acute migraine continues to be one of the 10 leading causes of request for care in emergency services there many drugs to handle the acute attacks of migraine, being first choice is the triptans and derivative ergotaminics; however, are not always available in emergency services by what is limited therapeutic care, consequently tends to use alternative analgesic drugs. So the objective of the study is to assess the analgesic efficacy of metoclopramide in combination with metamizol compared with the commonly used analgesic ketorolac. The design of the study is a clinical trial controlled, randomized, open, prospective, longitudinal, comparative. Made in patients admitted to the Hospital General CMN La Raza Emergency Department during the months of October to February, 2007; patients were selected for inclusion criteria, were a total of 61, which were chosen randomly two groups to whom I apply you a metoclopramide group forming more metamizol and to another group ketorolac, once established diagnosis of acute migraine using the criteria established by the International Headache Society (IHS). I will determine the intensity of the pain from the direct questioning based on similar pain scale. The results showed significant statistical difference p = 0.0001 with metoclopramide use in combination with your more effectively in the abolition of pain, metamizol nausea them, and vomiting.
