ABSTRACT
Objective: A bibliographic review of the development of hysteroscopic contraceptive procedures, including their success rate and complications.
Conclusions: Hysteroscopic contraception is an excellent option for Mexican women; it needs training and diffusion. The objective is to lessen its cost to institutions and to the patient, and to offer a highly effective method under local anesthesia with no surgical incisions, easy application in an ambulatory setting, and few days for recovery, allowing the practice of intrauterine procedures in the future.
