ABSTRACT
Cocaine induced pulmonary toxicity is increasing and this drug is now a common cause of pulmonary disease. Along with its increased use, different lung complications have been observed and the radiologic features are related to the structural lung damage and include diffuse alveolar damage, bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia, intraalveolar hemorrhage and other manifestations caused by the toxic effect of this drug. Radiographically we can observe ground glass opacity, mid and lower lobe consolidation, emphysema and fibrosis.
We briefly review the relevant aspects of cocaine-induced lung toxicity at our radiology department.
