ABSTRACT
Introduction: The Trauma brain injury (TBI) is a common reason for admission hospitalary. To evaluate these patients is necessary the tomography cranial and measure intracranial pressure.
Objective: To determine time of procedure in patients with trauma brain injury and relation with hypertension intracranial.
Design: Descriptive, prospective.
Setting: Trauma UCI.
Patients: Fifty three patients with TBI divide in two groups: Urban (23) and outside (18), admitted to UCI during a period of 10 months.
Measure and main results: The time was measure in hours and minutes since the begin of the accident until his arrival to emergencies room, taking TAC, placing of PIC, realization of the surgery and entrance to UCI; in the setting hospital we was measured: time door-PIC, door-TAC, door-surgery room and door-UCI. The time door-TAC (48 minutes) and door-PIC (7 hours) were prolonged. There were only statistically significant differences in the times of extrahospitalary phase being higher in the group outside. There was not relation with intracranial hypertension.
Conclusion: The time of the principal procedures in the treatment of the TBI result prolonged, can’t demonstrate how take part in the intracranial hypertension.
