ABSTRACT
An open and prospective study was developed in a 2-8 years old pediatric population diagnosed with allergic rhinitis. Every patient was given a 0.5 mg of loratadine/6.0 mg of pseudoephedrine combination in solution every 12 hours during 7 days. The clinical findings that were studied included: sneezing, conjunctival pruritus, nasal congestion, sleeping disorders, tearing, rhinorrea and general malaise. All the possible adverse reactions caused by the administration of this combination were also studied. The clinical study proved that this new combination of drug, 0.5 mg of loratadine/6.0 mg of pseudoephedrine, is successful in the treatment of allergic rhinitis with the presentation of minimal side effects.
