ABSTRACT
The prevalence of antibodies against thyroglobulin (TgAb) in patients with differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) appears to be between 8.5 and 25%. These antibodies interfere with the determination of thyroglobulin (Tg) and its value as a marker of the presence of thyroid tissue. On the other hand, the presence of TgAb and their behavior over time can be used as a marker of tumor activity. In this report we present five different clinical cases of DTC with TgAb and illustrate how their fluctuations can influence therapeutic decisions.
