ABSTRACT

Surgical possibilities for meniscectomized patients with pain are presented. The authors describe the surgical technique for meniscus graft and the collagen meniscal implants and carried out a review of the results published. It is unknown if the meniscals substitute, graft or implants, protect the cartilage and avoid the joint degeneration but some authors propose it for knees with mild stages of arthrosis, in order to stop the degenerative process.
