ABSTRACT
Placental or fetal metastasis due to a maternal cancer are rare, but malignant melanoma is the most common tumor to metastasize at this level. We report the case of a pregnant woman who developed visceral and cutaneous metastasis 3 years after the diagnosis and treatment of a malignant melanoma. Metastasis affected the placenta but not the fetus. Malignant melanoma is not the most frequent malignant tumor during pregnancy, butis the most common type of cancer to metastasize to the placenta and the fetus.
