Consumption of sugary food and dental caries in school children

ABSTRACT
Objective: To investigate the relationship between the consumption of commercial sugary products and dental caries in school children.
Material and methods: A dental examination was done in to 83
school children. Data were used for qualified about the mouth
health, according to the recommended indexes. Children were also
interrogated about the consumption of commercial sugary products.
Results: There was an statistical association of sugary commercial products consumption and the dental caries.
Conclusions: It is necessary to implement preventive measures to avoid the excessive consumption of sugary products.
