ABSTRACT
The design and synthesis of non-peptidic opioids with an specific pharmacological profile represents a promising field of study and a suitable source for new compounds with potential therapeutic application. In this work, we have evaluated a serie of non-peptidic synthetic opioids for their immunoregulatory and antitumoral properties. The results of this study support the notion that synthetic opioids, as those of natural origin, posess regulatory properties of biological relevance. Furthermore, the results obtained with the opioid agonist SNC 80, suggest that this opioid has clinical potential as a non immunosupresive analgesic drug and/or antitumoral agent.
