ABSTRACT

Hip fractures in children are rare, it represent less than 1% of all the fractures in children. Delbet-Colonna´s classification is recommended for it, and it establishes four types according to the site where the fracture is located. Their treatment consists of the closed reduction and stabilization of the fracture. The method will be determined primarily by the age of the patient and the type of fracture. As complications of this fractures, are mentioned: Osteonecrosis, which is the most frequent, chondrolisis, residual covara, non-union and infection.
