ABSTRACT
An intramedullary nailing system with an expandible steel nail is exposed, its advantages are, simple insertion, non reamed and a minimal invasion procedure. Its indications and contraindications are commented. The author presents a series of 100 cases of his personal experience in which he refers all the injuries and diseases of long bones in which this implant could be successfully used, emphasizing that the expandible blocked system avoids the longitudinal, rotational and horizontal instability in the fracture site without the disadvantages of an interlocking nail system.
