ABSTRACT
The communication between immune and inflammatory cells is mediated in large part by proteins, termed interleukins, which are able to promote cell growth, differentiation, and functional activation. These effector molecules are produced transiently and controll locally the amplitude and duration of the response. In this review, cytokinecell interactions as major biological characteristics of interleukins involved in innate immune response IL-1, IL-6, chemokines, IL-10, IL-12, IL-15, IL- 18, TNF-a and IFN-a, -b are outlined.
