ABSTRACT
A 33 year-old woman who 15 years earlier undergone right subtotal thyroidectomy for enlarging thyroid gland secondary to “Graves” disease. Previously treated for 12 months with Tiouracil and 131 Iodine ablation. The patient was in substitutive therapy with sodic levothyroxine (eutirox), when she noticed a painful enlarging neck mass of a hard solid consistency. She reported difficulty swallowing solid foods and fever during the first 2 days. Cytology findings showed inflammatory fibrosis of the thyroid remnant. Three months later the patient is swallowing without problems and the mass involutioned almost completely.
