Disfunción sexual masculina y calidad de la comunicación marital. Un estudio comparativo

ABSTRACT
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to observe differences between two groups of men: One with sexual dysfunctions and other one without, measuring marital communication and communication style.
Metodology: There were 222 without sexual dysfunctions and 141 with dysfunctions. This is a descriptive study, transversal, retrospective, with no experimental design, comparative of a single sample divided in two groups, with independent observations. It was used the sexuality questionnaire for men (Morales, et al, 1998) and the scales of Communication and Style of Marital Communication (Nina E, 1991).
Results: The results showed that most frequent dysfunctions are sexual dysrhythm, precocious ejaculation and hypoactive sexual desire. There were significant differences in five areas of communication. In the global result the group with sexual dysfunctions had less efficient level of communication. There were several differences in the communication styles.
Conclusion: Some dimensions of the marital communication (feeling, emotions and displeasures; entended family; the topic of the children; the work and the marital relationship), as well as the perception of a self reserved style and the couple’s violent and negative style, they associated with a high presence of masculine sexual dysfunctions.
