ABSTRACT
Loxoscelism is an ailment which causes necrotic injuries in skin and subcutaneous cell tissue. Systemic injuries can appear in slight form as hemolysis, and they lead to the patient to intravenous disseminated coagulation. This ailment is caused by the bite of a
Loxosceles reclusum spider. The aim is to describe the dermonecrotic reaction caused by the bite of the spider, as well as the systemic reactions in an adult patient presented in Emergency Room. The predominant symptoms were pain, hemorrhagic vesicle, and erythema with evolution to systemic loxoscelism. The patient required surgical treatment. Dapsone and immunoglobulin treatment limited the dermonecrotic injury significantly.
