ABSTRACT
Objective: To determine the association between the keratometric values of post photorefractive surgery and visual quality from aberrometry and contrast sensibility.
Material and methods: A prospective, longitudinal, observational and descriptive study was performed. A total of 46 eyes from 24 patients underwent photorefractive surgery with LASIK and PRK technique, in whom the subjective refraction, best corrected visual acuity, keratometries, contrast sensibility and aberrometries were measured pre surgery and at first and third months post surgery.
Results: An association between high keratometries post surgery and index degree of coma and mach aberrometries was evidenced, as well a flatter keratometry and the three highest contrast sensibility frequencies.
Conclusion: With higher post surgery keratometries of LASIK and PRK, there is a better visual quality measured by aberrometry and contrast sensibility.
