ABSTRACT
An analytical case-control study was done to characterize the risk factor in hepatitis B carriers in the Blood Bank of Antonio Luaces Hospital of Ciego de Avila province. Fifty cases and 100 controls were worked. Differences were detected in both groups in the number of sexual patners. There were differences in the odd ratio with significant statistical level of the following factors: 1) To have suffer other STD. 2) To have contact with carriers of hepatitis B. 3) To have received some parenteral treatment. 4) To share shaving machines. The number of patners was different among cases and controls.
